"There, there, at the point, where everything is composed and recomposed, where the word gains weight and escapes...
In the place where everything seems to have vanished, but then suddenly returns and still leaves one astounded"
Aspromonte National Park, on April 21, 2021, obtained the recognition of UNESCO World Geopark, entering the Global Geopark Network (GGN), an achievement that attests to its value not only geological but, together, of biodiversity, traditions, historical-artistic, archaeological and cultural heritage.
The Aspromonte Geopark (Aspromonte Geopark) aims to safeguard and enhance one of the most unique geological heritages in the central Mediterranean. The Aspromonte territory is characterized by great landscape diversity as well as geo-environmental peculiarities and the presence of interesting historical-cultural realities rooted in an ancient past influenced by different civilizations.
Today we are moving toward the revalidation of the recognition. The activities initiated to confirm the recognition as a UNESCO World Geopark can be seen in the sections of the website.
